Improved water sluice, restaurant small but good.

My husband and I go there often. A lot of things to see. The restaurant has very good food.

Beautiful, historic place to visit and grounds to walk around. You can walk through quickly or take your time to read and explore. There is lots to see and enjoy. The restaurant is delicious and is a fun treat. Our whole family loved our visit from ages 60 to 1.

I love to eat breakfast there then go walk around the mill. It's beautiful.

Always good food and very friendly staff

This place is great for fall visits, as well as summer time. I took a parkway all the way and throughout the way I got to enjoy fall colors. But the Mill itself is beautiful. You can walk around and see how people lived 100 years ago and what kind of tools they had. From farming to blacksmith and whiskey making. And when you get hungry restaurant is right there. On the way back stop by at few overlooks. Gorgeous views.

Amazing food but always busy. Be prepared to wait. It's worth it, though.

We visited Marbry Mill in 1985 from England (UK). It was fabulous then and going by the reviews it still is. We have fond memories of the Buckwheat pancakes we consumed which were an absolute delight. Love to back someday. Enjoy!

So very nice, great food, wonderful service and all around nice people.

Giving it's an okay review, the atmosphere and view is great but the food was a big disappointment to me. I read good reviews and heard good things about this place but the waitress seemed to just want me to eat as fast as possible and get out, once I got my food I had to stop other waitresses to get my drink refilled. BBQ portion I got was so fat and grisly I had more on my plate left that I couldn't eat then what I did actually get to eat. I would only stop here again if the family wanted to, there are far better places to eat on the parkway near here. Now they do have good ice cream up front however and the kids would love that.

Awesome breakfast and great service! Definitely recommend them and will be back.

Closed for season - We drove way out of our way to have Sunday brunch here only to find a post on the door that they were closed for the season. I had called before heading up to the parkway, but no message on the answering service saying they were closed. Very disappointing and poorly managed.

The Marbry Mill is the most photographed Mill east of the Mississippi. Located on the Blue Ridge Parkway in southern Virginia, the Mill has a beautiful Mill pond, wooden flume and historic milling equipment. The exterior displays a moving waterwheel. The interior has a spectacular historic sawmill, millstones and numerous grist Mill items. A Miller is found inside the Mill and shares information to all who visit. One of the United States historic treasures.

The food was the best and the waitress was so nice

Long wait to be seated but well worth the wait. Breakfast, served all day, was excellent. Bring your appetite. My wife recommends The Flume.

This place has fabulous food and super clean anf friendly

Can't really speak for the restaurant side except that it was crowded and they had people waiting to eat. It smelled wonderful. The gift shop was quite disappointing unfortunately. Everything seemed cheap and junky. If I'm going to spend the money I'd at least like something with a nice picture of the mill on it. Nice people and very nice park area with very knowledgeable staff.

I do remember seeing, and stopping by the Mabry Mill Restaurant, and Gift Shop which is near the Blueridge Parkway. I even remember going to it with my family as a child, along with going to it with my father before I left Roanoke. I think the Mabry Mill is a very special, and neat place to visit. It fascinates me that it is still a operating mill. I do not know how old the Mabry Mill is, but it is a beautiful, and unique part of history. The next time that am in the area, I do hope to visit Mabry Mill again.

Service was poor. Food was terrible. It looked like we were served power eggs, some kind of "processed" meat sausage, the bacon was burnt, coffee was cold, potatoes were hard as a rock and cold. The only thing worth eating were the grits and buck wheat pancakes, that's probably because those 2 items are made on sight. It was $24 including the tip. You're paying for the experience not the food or service. You can get much better food and service 2 miles back in Meadows of Dan. Won't be making the Mabry Mill mistake again.

I really never leave a bad review, I was so excited to visit the mill on Saturday, my wife and I immediately walked down to the mill and saw the beautiful view. Then we went to eat there at the restaurant, we both were very disappointed on the food , some of our food was cold and some tasted like it came out of a can and warmed up. My wife got breakfast and I got lunch, we ate off each other’s plates, we found the only thing we really enjoyed were the pancakes .

Price is$$ for resturant but the food is great. Spend the day touring the grounds and follow up with a very good meal. Enjoy the nature part also. There is table service at resturant.

Not worth over an hour wait or the price. Vegetables were straight out of a can. Meat (turkey and pork loin) extremely dry and tough. Biscuits substituted for spoonbread were rock hard. Pancakes, mushy and homefries, microwaved.

Good food. Not handicapped friendly. Very cramped in dinning room. Service was great.

Every time I've been to Mabry Mill Restaurant it has been packed. My husband and I went to the restaurant this past time and there were a lot of people waiting to get in but because we were two people they took us to our table right away. The restaurants area where you said is on a back porch That's closed in. It is facing a wooden area. The waiters and waitresses are very accommodating welcoming and super busy. The food is absolutely delicious at this restaurant I had pork and potatoes and a vegetable. My husband had a roast beef stew. We had a blueberry cobbler for dessert. So we were very full when we left the restaurant and very satisfied. Thank you Matt every meal for always being so southerlanly delightful.

Always great food and friendly folks. Grounds are neat and have been recently redone--flume and water wheel work great!

Had breakfast and lunch. Both plates had generous portions. For breakfast I had Pancakes - they were very tasty even before I added the maple syrup. Turkey platter for lunch. Tasty and fresh - as are all ingredients on the menu! Prices average 10$ a plate. Considering that other nearby restaurants seen on TV charge a lot more for fresh and local ingredients the prices here are very, very inexpensive and reasonable. Everything was hot and on time. Servers very helpful and friendly. Had Cappuccino to go - it was nice and hot for a cold and rainy day and reasonable in price and tasty too!

I had the chicken wrap. It was delicious. I usually don't get enough to eat. There was so much that I had to take half of it home.

Awesome place to visit. Very nice staff and friendly. Great food with breakfast served all day or grab one of their Mabry Angus all beef hamburgers with your favorite toppings and frys. Also hand dipped ice cream to soothe your sweet tooth craving on a cone or bowl. Nice little gift shop with clean restrooms can't go wrong here. Afterwards step back in time and take a walk down to the old mill and blacksmith shop many things to see here for the entire family. Highly recommended!

Mabry Mill is a really picturesque place. It is not too large so it's fine to visit if you only have a little time. The gift shop is fun to look around in. It has a mix of touristy items with some locally made items. There is a delicious country-style restaurant there too. I always try to eat there when I visit. Their specialty is the variety of pancakes including buckwheat pancakes. The country ham is really delicious and per tradition is very salty tasting. They also make a good pimento cheese sandwich.

Food was good and decently priced but the waitress was ride and clearly didn't want to be there.

Great breakfast while on the road heading out for adventures in the mountains. What a fine way to start the day. Wasn't shopping that day...

This is a very unique and wonderful place to visit. You couldn't ask for a better place to stop and look around. We didn't eat here because it was packed but I heard everyone talking about how good it was. We plan to go back.

Beautiful scenic spot good food also. I love it i always stop when I'm in the area. Working gris mill on the Blue Ridge pkwy. Worth the stop.

Great stop on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Very popular destination. The main parking lot fills quickly, but there is an overflow area. Restaurant is very small, but the menu is reasonably priced. Mostly sandwiches and salads. Very nice gift shop. If you take the time to walk around to the back of the restaurant, there's a stream with a small cascade running through the rhododendron.

Great place to eat. The cooks are hit or miss sometimes over cooking items. But when they don’t its first class and fresh. Prices are little high FYI.

I've always loved this place but...two weekends in a row we have drove really far to have Dinner here. The times for closing the restaurant is supposed to be 5:00 according to Google Maps and according to the restaurant itself. Sunday, two weeks ago we arrived at 4:30 and they had closed the kitchen already. Ok, we were slightly ticked off. 🤐😞This other week we arrived at 4:15 and they wouldn't allow entrance to the restaurant. We were not happy to say the least. I will say the many times our family has dined here it was superb! We will no longer drive here just to be treated badly .😤😠

We drove for over an hour to get to the mill and the restaurant based on the hours over the phone only to find they were closed til may. All the buildings at the mill were also closed. Would have been nice if that infomation was included with the hours. Very disappointing.

Great place to eat breakfast.. We usually ride our bikes from Greensboro NC, and make a day trip to VA. This is where we eat breakfast before we get on the parkway to come back home. They have a little bit of everything for anyone.

Great stop on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Lots to see. Restaurant has good food and also souvenir shop.

Stopped here years ago with some friends on our way to NC leaving Roanoke VA. This was a great detour. Went back with my sisters not long ago, we ate breakfast the waitress even scrambled up some whipped topping for my pancakes that's the kind of awesome service they provide. And we really enjoyed walking around, very picturesque!

The restaurant has great service and food. Bit is a sit down restaurant not your typical fast food. When you go during rush hour plan to wait in line. Get there early ❣️The gift shop is about the history of the place and objects to buy as a reminder of where you went.A great place to to family portrait sessions as well. The place has been well photographed over the decades.
